Course Info:

You will be required to demonstrate your ability to perform CPR, basic First Aid and the proper use of an Automated External Defibulator. This will require you to kneel on the floor for extended periods of time. Back or knee injuries may limit your ability to perform the necessary skills to pass this course.

Deciding to take action in an emergency situation is often a difficult decision to make. Being properly trained to handle medical emergencies will help you to make the right decision.

In this class the student will learn how to recognize life threatening medical emergencies as well as non life threatening emergencies. The student will be taught how to assess emergency situations, and the proper care to be given based on the conditions found. CPR will be taught for Adults, Children and Infants. Techniques for rescue breathing and compressions will be demonstrated and practiced in this class.

Basic First Aid and safety issues such as caring for victims of sudden illness, burn victims, abrasions, broken bones, sprains, poisonings or other types of accidents will also be taught.

The student will also learn about the Cardiac Chain of Survival. Techniques for using the AED will be taught, demonstrated and practiced.

Each student will be required to pass the American Red Cross Written exams as well as demonstrate their ability to properly perform CPR, the proper use of the AED and Basic First Aid skills.
